I sent “ Wrapped Ether (Wormhole) (WETH)” in the amount of .85 weth from my phantom wallet to my solana wallet address in my coinbase account.
This is an SLP solana token which I sent to a solana token, complying with coinbase rules of sending only sol tokens to solana wallet. I believe the ca for the token is: 7vfCXTUXx5WJV5JADk17DUJ4ksgau7utNKj4b963voxs (if I’m not mistaken)
It went through the coinbase system and I can see the funds on chain in my Sol wallet using solscan but it is stuck and I can’t get it in my coinbase account.
This occurred half a year ago and I contacted coinbase then when they simply said we don’t have recovery tools for solana tokens.
I called back again last night and tried to plead my case that there should be no reason for there to be a recovery since I sent a solana token to my solana addy. This time they were insistent in saying that what I sent was wrapped ethereum which I sent and not a solana token. We went back and forth arguing about it to no avail. We were on the phone for over 3 hours after they put me on hold many times, at which point I just said that if it is $weth which I sent, then why can’t they recover it for me if they have tools that support record for Ethereum? They then put me on hold for another 25 minutes and said that I can now recover the funds myself and I should follow the instructions in the email they sent. I did exactly that and it asked me for the transaction id and coinbase receive address. I only have that information on the solana network since it’s a solana token, but when I enter that information it basically tells me that it can’t be recovered (probably because they still don’t support solana token recovery tools) so I am back at square 1!
I know this belongs in a coinbase forum but I thought I’d throw it in here as well and maybe somebody can enlighten me.
